DR. MARTENS X TATE BRITAIN: RICHARD DADD
Posted Nov 15, 2018
The Tate Britain houses an impressive collection of British art from the 1500s right up to present day. Everything about it is intriguing, from the architecture of the building to the works on display. Our third and most recent collaboration with Tate Britain sees the paintings of Richard Dadd depicted on our 1460 boots. Dadd was a painter of the Victorian era and completed some of his most famous works while he was a patient at Bethlem and Broadmoor hospitals. There is an eerie, otherworldly, almost sinister element to many of his paintings with fairies, phantoms and other supernatural subjects depicted in intricate detail.
DR. MARTENS X NEIGHBOURHOOD

Our new collaboration sees us partner with Japanese brand Neighborhood to give two of our most classic silhouettes, the 1460 boot and 1461 shoe, a fresh spin. Taking inspiration from the military, work-wear and motorbikes, Neighborhood’s aesthetic is rooted in subcultures and street-wear. This collaboration carries that spirit, as well as all the hallmarks of Docs durability.
DR. MARTENS X NEEDLES

Our latest collaboration with Japanese brand Nepenthes sees us creatively fusing with their in-house label, Needles. This is where where owner and director Keizo Shimizu presents a more personal, curated vision. And everything has a hazily nostalgic, West-Coast feel.
